Alphabet of Fundraising Ideas
Looking for inspiration? How about using one of these ideas to run your own fundraising event for JCM?
A is for Auction: Why not run a charity auction? You could ask local businesses to donate prizes, or ask friends to auction their time; maybe to do household chores or to teach a skill.
B is for Baking: Have a bake sale! A brilliant excuse to indulge in sweet treats.
C is for Couch to 5K: Take up an accessible exercise regime like the Couch to 5K. Find out more here.
D is for Domino Chain: Why not build a huge domino chain or marble run and get friends to guess the number of dominos or how long you will be able to get the chain to run for?
E is for Endurance Challenge: Whether it’s climbing a mountain, running a race or doing reps at the gym, is there a physical challenge that you would like to take on?
F is for Film Marathon: Watch through as many series of your favourite box sets as you can.
G is for Give it Up: Is there something that would be a real challenge for you to give up? Whether it’s social media, chocolate or something else could you make it a sponsored event?
H is for How Many…? A school fete favourite! Fill a container with sweets and take donations for guesses as to how many are inside. The closest guess gets the jar as a prize!
I is for Ice Cream Evening: Sell tickets or get donations per ice cream scoop.
J is for Jigsaw Challenge: Take on an epic jigsaw puzzle (maybe one with a fiendishly difficult picture, or with a huge number of pieces). Or ask for a donation in return for checking other people’s old jigsaws to make sure all the pieces are there.
K is for Knitting: Form a knit and natter group, or make items of knitwear to sell/auction off for JCM.
L is for Loose change: Give friends and family a small container (like a smarty tube) and challenge them to give it back to you filled with loose change.
M is for Memorisation: Challenge yourself to memorise part of the Bible: maybe a favourite Psalm or a whole book if you’re feeling ambitious!
N is for Name the… Another old school favourite. Find a teddy or something else and ask for donations in exchange for naming suggestions.
O is for Open Garden: Are you green fingered? Could you open your garden in exchange for donations? Or run a plant sale to get rid of all your excess seedlings and cuttings?
P is for Photoshoot: Are you a keen photographer? Could you take portraits in exchange for donations?
Q is for Quiz Night: Why not run a quiz night? We have plenty of old quiz rounds to supply you with if you need some inspiration.
R is for Record Breaking: Take a bizarre world record and try to beat it.
S is for Spring Cleaning: clear out your cupboard full of junk and see if there’s anything you could put on eBay or sell on.
T is for Twenty Four Hour Challenge: set yourself a target, maybe staying silent, gaming or team up with friends to keep a sports match going for a whole 24 hours.
U is for Upcycling: Find something old and in need of a little TLC and give it a makeover to sell on. Or do up your friend’s old furniture in exchange for donations.
V is for Vegetarian: Go veggie or even vegan for a month.
W is for Weight Loss: Raise sponsorship to get down to your target weight (as long as it’s a healthy one for you).
X is for Xbox/Playstation/Console Tournament: or use traditional board games if that’s more your cuppa tea.
Y is for Year’s Resolution: Whatever the date, set yourself the challenging of keeping up a positive habit for a whole year.
Z is for Zzzz: Have a sponsored sleep event. What better excuse to catch up on sleep.
