Introducing our Christmas Fund 2020
Christmas is often a difficult time but this year it is likely to be much harder for all of us. The potential impact of lockdown restrictions and the risks around COVID-19 are making it very difficult to know what to expect.
Sadly, many of those we support at Just Caring are used to lonely and dysfunctional Christmases. Some do not have family to spend it with. Others will struggle to afford the heating, let alone a turkey dinner. Christmas leaves them feeling unwanted; out in the cold while everyone else has life “sorted”.
However, COVID-19 has brought an additional challenge: we would normally raise the money to pay for this through Craft Fairs and our Christmas Card Competition however lockdown restrictions have meant that these activities have had to be cancelled. We’ve been looking into other ways we can fundraise to meet this need.
This is why we are launching our Christmas Fund to try to find creative and festive ways that everyone who is able to can still support us this year. We hope that you feel inspired to try one of these new ideas:
Are you feeling creative?
We aren’t able to run our usual Christmas Card Competition this year so instead we’ve put together our own card designs that our supporters of all ages can colour in and decorate themselves. Let the festive creativity commence!
Buy your Christmas Cards from JCM
We have mixed packs of JCM Christmas cards from previous years that you can buy for £5 for a pack of 10 cards (postage included for UK orders). Please get your orders to us soon so they will arrive in good time. Thank you!
Will you be buying your presents online?
Don’t forget that when you shop online you can raise money for us at absolutely no extra cost to you! Simply search for your shopping through the Easy Fundraising website or App or remember to shop through Amazon Smile. It couldn’t be easier!
Could you make a donation?
Many of us will be spending less for Christmas this year: there won’t be any office parties to go to. There might be less people to cater for for Christmas dinner. Would you be able to donate some of this money you’ve saved towards our Christmas Fund? Could you “buy” a portion of dinner for one of our beneficiaries by donating the equivalent amount you would have spent?
