Can you help us to get ready for Spring?
On the 18th of March between 10am and 4pm we will be holding a Work Party at our Gardening Project.
Hang on a moment, you may be thinking, don’t you run Gardening Project sessions to look after the JCM Garden? And you would be right. However this year we are in need of extra help to get the Gardening Project going because of the Honey Fungus infection we discovered in the autumn.
Sadly our Honey Fungus did turn out to be Armillaria mellea, a parasite that feeds off, and eventually kills garden plants. Because of the spread of the fungus we need to pot up all of our plants that are currently in the ground, cut down and dig out the roots of infected shrubs and dig over the entire site. We have been able to make some progress with this but it will be a challenge to do everything that needs to be done before the gardening season starts properly in spring.
If you are able to lend us a hand, even for a short time on the 18th we would really appreciate it. You don’t need to have any gardening experience – just a willingness to join in and help. 🙂
