Week of Prayer: Monday

Week of Prayer: Monday

June 10, 2024 Anne Bell 0

Thank you for joining us for our Week of Prayer.  Today’s theme is Looking Forwards.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55 v 8-11

Earlier in the year we discovered that we may not be able to build our HUB project at our current Gardening Project.  Since then we have been offered a couple of different sites, but nothing has yet solidified into a tangible way forwards.  We are currently waiting to hear about either a new long-term lease or the option to buy our current garden from Bournville Village Trust.

This uncertainty is discouraging, but we are grateful to know that we are secure in God’s hands.  Nothing can disrupt his plans and purposes for us.  We can even give thanks for the disappointments, because they teach us to lean more and more on God, rather than on our own resources or plans.

Please pray for us:

  • That we will not become discouraged or lack faith, but will rejoice in God’s wisdom and faithfulness to us.
  • That God will provide a way forwards so that we might be able to have a HUB, or base, whether at our current garden or elsewhere.
  • That we will have wisdom to know how best to manage our current Gardening Project given the uncertainty about how long we will be staying there.

Thank you for your prayers,

The Just Caring Team
